One Cabinet Painting Trade, Done Right Across The City
Mississauga Cabinet Painting sprays, refinishes and refaces kitchen cabinets, islands, vanities, pantry runs and built-in units in houses, condo suites and basement kitchens from Port Credit and Lorne Park to Malton, and through Cooksville and the Square One towers. Full insurance sits behind every job we take. Cabinet painting is the only trade we do, which is why the conversation can be about the oak in one particular Clarkson kitchen rather than about paint in general.
The building stock dictates the work. A 1955 birch slab kitchen in a Lakeview bungalow, golden oak from the Lorne Park build-out, thermofoil from a 2009 Port Credit townhouse, a melamine galley twenty-two floors above Burnhamthorpe and a hard-used basement kitchen in Malton each want a different primer, a different depth of prep and occasionally a different recommendation altogether. Most of the skill in cabinet painting is knowing which is which.
Cabinet Painting Is Won Or Lost In The Prep, So Prep Is Never Trimmed
Paint leaves cabinets for a handful of reasons: grease that was never cut, a surface nobody sanded, a primer wrong for the substrate, or a heavy coat pressed into service before it cured. Everything in the routine exists to close those four gaps.
Fronts come down tagged to their openings and hinges go into marked bags. A degreaser strong enough for cooking wax lifts the film, surfaces are abraded to roughly 220 grit, dents and redundant holes are plugged, and gaps caulked. Primer then follows the material: shellac over oak and cherry, a bonding product over melamine and thermofoil, cabinet primer over maple and MDF.
Topcoats are waterborne alkyd enamel or two-component polyurethane, sprayed thin with a scuff between passes. Fronts head to a filtered booth; carcasses are coated in the room behind taped poly. The case for spraying rather than brushing sits on the page about sprayed finishes, and every kind of cabinet painting we do appears on the services page.
What We Will Tell You Even When It Loses Us The Job
You will hear when thermofoil has lifted too far to paint and the front has to be replaced. You will hear when walnut or cherry is better refinished than painted. You will hear when a sink base has gone soft past rescue. You will hear when the cream on the chip is going to read yellow against the counter, and a door gets sprayed to prove it before anyone commits.
Painting whatever is pointed at is order-taking. A cabinet painting company that intends to be here next year owes people the awkward version of the answer.
How We Work
One Trade Only
Cabinet painting is the only trade here, so the conversation is about the oak in one particular kitchen rather than paint in general. Each material gets its own primer and its own depth of prep. The company is fully insured.
Prep Is Never Trimmed
Grease is cut, surfaces are sanded to about 220 grit, and the primer follows the material: shellac over oak and cherry, a bonding product over melamine and thermofoil, and cabinet primer over maple and MDF.
Quotes Name Everything
Every quote tallies doors, drawer fronts, gables and end panels, names the primer and topcoat family, and gives sheen and coat count. Islands, vanities and basement kitchens get lines of their own.
Straight Answers
You will hear when thermofoil has lifted too far to paint, when walnut is better refinished, or when a sink base has gone soft past rescue. That advice comes even when it loses the job.
